Lifeskills 303 - Journaling December 16th, 2024

Cecilie Conrad·Dec 16, 2024· 3 minutes

Do I even have time to journal when there are just nineteen minutes until the next podcast recording? I’ve just had a fascinating conversation with Jakob Nordby, an American with Norwegian roots who helps aspiring writers discover who they truly are. We talked about transformational journeys, and I found myself perhaps frustrated—or more accurately, having an insight—that transformation can become a bit addictive, an irritating goal—like a drug, a form of self-improvement, or a cleansing ritual. All well and good, but somehow:
Isn’t it really about clearing the space? Why do you do what you do? Who are you? Where do you want to go? These are all excellent questions to ask yourself. Next level: What does the universe want from you? Can you hear God’s voice? Are you on the right path?

Yes. Those are indeed the questions.

But truly, guys:

Can you allow yourself to be in the present moment? Can you align your head, heart, and body and be one with your soul? Is that enough? Can you feel the wind on your cheeks and hear the birds speaking as they fly? Do you know exactly what you’re meant to do in the next moment—or do you not, because does that even exist? Do you know what you’re supposed to do now? Can you feel your next step?

There’s no doubt that everything has meaning, and therefore, so do we. But do we dare lean into it? Do we trust? If we choose the present moment and simply BE and trust that all of it is enough, then we will no longer care about ego-driven energy, shadow dances, transformation, or even life purpose—because the only thing that matters is the infinite, incredible, overwhelming present: now, here, with all it entails—the dimensions, the colors, the nuances, the feelings, the currents—and if we lean into that with trust (for in pure presence, there is no doubt), we’ll also know what we need to do, what our role is, and there will be nothing more to search for.

Nothing needs to be transformed. Freedom is just a word. The present moment has no limits; everything becomes fluid, alive, strong, and open.

What a phenomenal conversation we had for that podcast recording; what a beautiful process—an hour with another soul via Skype, and everyone became wiser and stronger, clearer and filled with light. Here we are, all of us, shining stardust.
Ten minutes until the next recording. There was plenty of time for journaling.

Can ChatGBT translate in under ten minutes?

(I wrote this originally in Danish. The answer is yes. ChatGBT gave me enough time to even go through the text; it is ready, and I still have one minute to spare - what a great comment on the Moment and Time)
