Camino Frances Day 5: Warmth, Giant Dolls, River Dips, and Evening Laughter | Day 256 of my 2023 Journal

Cecilie Conrad·Sep 14, 2023· 2 minutes

Camino Frances. Day five.

Warmest day up to now. No wind, late start, no clouds.

Very beautiful and not too long, a walk of only nine kilometers.

Vilafranca del Bierzo gave us a bar next to the hostel, where we hung out drinking water while waiting for the taxi. As we were waiting, giant dolls came dancing down the street. Followed by a bagpipe orchestra. They paused at the same bar, sneaking out of the huge dolls to have a beer and cool down.

When the taxi had picked up the group going back for the van, we went to the river beach, where we had a wonderful cold dip and some rest.

In the evening there was a very amusing concert right in front of our restaurant of choice, and we laughed a lot!

A day with so many elements!

We slept in our van next to the river, under the stars, in the silence.

With love

Unschooling and Parent consulting, conversations, blogposts, and podcasts on family life and learning

Hi, I'm Cecilie Conrad. I'm a trained psychologist, mother of four, radical unschooler and full-time traveller. I have lived with unschooling for over a decade and help other families find their own path – whether it is about homeschooling, unschooling, or the bigger question of how you want to live as a family.

I offer guidance, conversations and talks. I call my work grandmothering – not coaching in the traditional sense, but presence, professional insight and concrete help navigating motherhood and finding your way home to your own values.

Am I the right person to help you? You can book a free discovery call, and we'll talk and figure it out.
