Are You Always Busy?

Cecilie Conrad·Aug 16, 2021· 2 minutes

I like to do a thousand things. Every day I wake up and want to do so much more than I can. My ambitions are extreme, and my tempo is high.

I study languages and history, and whatever my kids want to study.

I do my yoga, and I cook a lot of vegan stuff.

I organize and do the chores in new locations and new ways, we go on hikes or the beach or to museums or city walking, and we love people, so we meet with someone, or we go out to listen to music, or we try to do all of the above at the same time.

And we have the blog to write, the photos to work with, the arts and crafts, the maintenance of our vehicles/homes, and people to call.

Are we busy?

No.

We are not busy.

What we do is this:

1. Define core values
2. Make a plan accordingly
3. Are flexible to change the plan

This is basically it.

And we know, because we are clear on our core values, taking time to talk to each other, listen to the music playing, feeling the cold water of the ocean, sleeping enough - all of this is more important than ticking off everything on the list.

Basically, life is in the moment of the things we do. Whether we are studying a language or talking to a friend, or going for a walk, the most important is not to have a mind full of all the things we are not doing in this present moment.

May the sun shine on you
