Guggenheim | Day 77 of my 2023 Journal

Cecilie Conrad·Mar 18, 2023· 2 minutes

We saw this work by Banksy the same day we went to the Guggenheim Museum in Venice

Changing place
Changing time
Changing thoughts
Changing future

My husband took this photograph of a dove flying by the message when we visited the Guggenheim Museum in Venice.

The symbol of hope and of cities combined with this message is so close to our mission.

Because why do we do what we do?

It is obvious that traveling is an adventure, and from the outside, it looks like a lot of vacations. The first part is right, but the second is not.

It is not a luxury project nor an escape. We live as nomads because when we change places, we stay awake, mentally open, and clear. We need to be connected to our inner selves, to the eternal universe, and to all the little and big things right around us to see the connections and light leading the way.

In doing so, moving around, we change perspective and learn all the time, leading our thoughts to change our thinking methods to be open and clear and always flexible. From the ever-changing emerges the clear and never changing truths.

How time changes are more wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey (Dr. Who reference). How time feels changes when we move and learn, and how it seems to change opens. We learn “our time” can be many different things depending on where we are. The times change as we move around. In many ways. Wibbley-wobbly ways.

And then, maybe, the future changes? Possibilities open. And we have hope.

When we move around, whatever seems fixed starts to unravel, leaving openings and options and light.

Enjoying Venice with people we love

Peggy Guggenheim’s former home and museum in Venice hold so many masterpieces, this one not so interesting, and yet adding the dove and my state of mind, it became very interesting. We enjoyed a lovely chunk of hours among the pieces

And walked away inspired.

Love and light
