Cold morning dip and slow living | Day 127 of my 2023 Journal

Cecilie Conrad·May 7, 2023

I think I might be addicted.

After the very late night with the VIP women and the wine and the men with beards, I still got up early to go for a cold morning dip.

It was a beautiful morning with mist and women and the sun working hard to find its way through the moisture. We drove through the green landscape while waking up, getting ready for the cold water.

The tide was high, and the waves were not friendly. We all managed to get in. Interestingly, I am not cold when I get out of the cold water, I usually freeze so much, and I am freezing when I get in. The rush of the blood changes everything, and it feels so good.

Returning, we cleaned and cleared, and assembled everyone for photos before hugging and saying goodbyes. It was sad to see the group split, but it is a part of nomad life to do so, and we all trust we will meet again.

Back at the castle, everything was quiet. We were tired, took naps and showers, washed clothes, talked, and cleaned the van. The children enjoy being around their friends, not doing much, just enjoying friendships.

It was some kind of pause between things, a day not to experience too much so that everything inside could settle for a while. The trees green, the conversations easy, ticking boxes of small things.

Love and light

Unschooling and Parent consulting, conversations, blogposts, and podcasts on family life and learning

Hi, I'm Cecilie Conrad. I'm a trained psychologist, mother of four, radical unschooler and full-time traveller. I have lived with unschooling for over a decade and help other families find their own path – whether it is about homeschooling, unschooling, or the bigger question of how you want to live as a family.

I offer guidance, conversations and talks. I call my work grandmothering – not coaching in the traditional sense, but presence, professional insight and concrete help navigating motherhood and finding your way home to your own values.

Am I the right person to help you? You can book a free discovery call, and we'll talk and figure it out.

Listen to my podcasts

I share my knowledge and curiosity about family life and learning in my two podcasts.
