Fairford and a friend | Day 227 of my 2023 Journal

Cecilie Conrad·Aug 16, 2023· 2 minutes

Fairford is a small town in Gloucestershire in the Southwest of England. A pretty and neat little place I would have never visited if it was not because one of my friends grew up there and, for the moment, lives with her mother in the family home.

It is one of these seriously pretty little towns that looks like they have been there for four hundred years, with nice houses and lots of flowers and one Main Street with a few cafes and shops, and a beautiful church with very special and old mosaic windows.

We enjoyed our walks there and to see where our friend grew up, we bought our first British stamps with the face of the new king, we had a coffee, we saw the special representation of the ascent of Jesus Christ in the mosaic, we had lunch. We washed our clothes and drove off to the next adventure: The Home Education Family Festival, supposedly an epic celebration of the home-ed lifestyle.

It took forever to get there: First, we bought some clothes in some charity shops, and then we drove back because I had left behind my computer, and then we finally drove off to get there.

Life tends to have the perfect timing put us right next to our world schooler friends Saschas family, and we parked up in the sunset, played pool and darts, and had dinner and tea and chats until late.

Love and light
