Dolphins are whales | Day 360 of my 2023 Journal

Cecilie Conrad·Dec 26, 2023· 2 minutes

It is very hard to take good pictures of dolphins, especially if you are at the same time trying just to enjoy the moment and save some hours in the afternoon, not wanting to delete photos all night.

But I can assure you, we enjoyed the dolphins! So much so that it was okay not to see a whale. We know we were too early to enjoy the whales, and as we often say in our family, Any plan is a good plan, as it will get you out there to experience the world - so often not what you planned, but at least something.

This something was pretty overwhelming.

The day was clear and soft and silent, the water and the sky so blue and pretty, and the dolphins beautiful. So were the pelicans and the frigatebirds, and so was the setting moon in the morning and the rising same in the evening when we were enjoying the sunset and more dolphins.

Besides that, we had a day of rest, tired and gearing up to move on; most of us had a nap in the afternoon; we read our books and did our individual things, shared some meals, and a few chapters of the Danish Christmas tale we are trying to complete before it begins to feel too much like the new year vibe.

With love
