Roaring Twenties: A party to convince us we are home | Day 336 of my 2023 Journal

Cecilie Conrad·Dec 2, 2023· 2 minutes

This was the final drop: We are now convinced San Miguel de Allende is the right place for us to have our winter breaks and find our new community and base.

We were invited to join the party in the Teens Connect group, and even though it was a strange feeling to arrive at a party where most everyone else knew each other and were dressed up in 1920s outfits - while we backpackers just had to come as we were - it was a HUGE success!

It is not hard to feel the vibe of a community at a party for teenagers, where families join. Within a few hours, we made new friends, danced, and laughed.

Sometimes things work out perfectly, and this group of people were holding a standard of how to enrich each other’s lives!

We were even saved by the bell when going back, as we - the newbies - had imagined we could call a taxi, but realized it was A very late and B far from the city (20 minutes). But the universe keeps telling us it has our backs: In the shared bus we had NOT booked seats in, there were five vacant seats to take us back to SMA. Perfect.

Just perfect.

With love
